I really wanted to tell a story of a type of mermaid that loves to collect shiney exotic things from the world above, and loves living life and hanging with her fishy friends. :)
I went through a few poses before settling on the final one. I explored a lot of composition and flow with the fish and seaweed as well.
Original concept art for what will be a sculpture and a few complimentary collectible items for my upcoming Summer 2020 collection! I had so much fun with this, especially the sparkly bits. And while I could have spent another 20 hours on it, I'm happy to call it done and get to sculpting this super awesome mermaid and her fishy friends. :D
